What is Figheadh? The word itself is Gaelic and means knitting or weaving and is pronounced Fee-yugh. However, we know you’ll be saying “Fig Head” and so do we, most of the time. The name itself is a unique reflection of what we are about. We love knitting and we love anything Celtic. That’s why you’ll see lots of cables and Celtic colorwork—there will even be some Fair Isle coming soon. No matter the incarnation, you’ll find plenty of knitting patterns for a wide variety of projects—all built on a traditional foundation but with added Figheadh flair!
We’ve been here since 2005 dreaming up projects knitters like to knit. Our designer is Jen Hagan, who works with a small group of independent testers, editors, photographers, and sample knitters to transform her ideas into patterns that are clear and comprehensive. We hope you can find some that fit just the right spot on your knitting wish list.
We are always growing and improving, so we hope you’ll come back again and again to see what’s new. Thanks for stopping by!
